Audition Update – La Bohème

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for our upcoming production of La Bohème. We were thrilled by the talent in the room and have cast most roles.

We are currently accepting submissions for the following roles:

Rodolfo/Rudy

Traditionally tenor; open to soprano or mezzo-soprano
A passionate poet with an idealistic heart, Rodolfo is romantic, impulsive, and emotionally open. For this production, we strongly prefer a female-presenting or nonbinary soprano or mezzo-soprano for the role. However, we remain open to tenors and welcome submissions from all singers who feel artistically aligned with this vision.

Alcindoro

Baritone
A comedic character role requiring strong presence and timing. Alcindoro is pompous, self-serious, and dramatically outmatched by Musetta.

This production is an English-language adaptation of La Bohème, performing:

  • June 10–14 (Woodhouse Brewery – intimate staging)

  • September 29 (Audrey Stanley Grove – Santa Cruz Shakespeare Community Nights)

  • Video submission (2 contrasting selections; at least one operatic aria and one in English)

  • Confirmation of availability for the June and September performance dates

Video submissions may be live or recorded; recent recordings (within one year)are acceptable.
Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
